DigiFor

DigiFor stands for the digital transformation of forestry. We research and develop methods, platforms and tools that make forest ecosystems and forestry processes measurable, understandable and controllable - from data collection in the stand to decision-making in operations. To this end, we combine state-of-the-art sensor technology and mechatronics (UAV-LiDAR, GNSS-RTK, IoT), data analysis and AI with immersive technologies (AR/VR/XR). One focus is on digital forest twins that map stocks and value chains and support well-founded decisions in day-to-day business. In close cooperation with practice, administration and industry, we rely on open interfaces, standards and comprehensible workflows. Our goal: sustainable, secure and economical forestry processes - scalable from the individual tree to the region
