DigiFor - Digitized forestry processes and systems.
We connect forest, data and forestry practice. Using sensor technology, XR and AI, we develop solutions that make forestry operations more resilient, efficient and transparent.
DigiFor stands for the digital transformation of forestry. We research and develop methods, platforms and tools to make forest ecosystems and forestry processes measurable, understandable and controllable - from data collection in the stand to decision-making in operations. To this end, we combine state-of-the-art sensor technology and mechatronics (UAV-LiDAR, GNSS-RTK, IoT), data analysis and AI with immersive technologies (AR/VR/XR). One focus is on digital forest twins that map stocks and value chains and support well-founded decisions in day-to-day business. In close cooperation with practice, administration and industry, we rely on open interfaces, standards and comprehensible workflows.
Our goal: sustainable, secure and economical forestry processes - scalable from the individual tree to the region.
