Research at the Chair of Forest Utilization

The role of wood as a cultural carrier in the past, today and in the future becomes clear when you consider the wide variety of wood species and wood products and their technical and design properties, e.g. the violin, the children's playground, the roof truss of a house, a sports hall or your favorite book.

Due to the high demand for wood, it is important that the raw material is used efficiently. In our research, we are therefore investigating how it can be processed in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.
