Field trip
Landscape change through acting humans
Humans have always had trouble with time because the human mind produces changes in the uses of landscape several times faster than ecological and geological processes can do.
Near Dresden there is a huge unique open-cast mining landscape. Since the mine has been in operation for about 100 years we will find four snapshots of intensive landscape changes: the traditional pine woods, the mine in operation and the old and new post-mining restored landscape.
The participants of the Fourth International Conference on New Frontiers of Forest Economics are invited to experience a journey through Landscape change.
