Courses of study
The Chair of Forest Policy and the Economics of Forest Resources offers introductory and in-depth courses within all of the study programmes offered by the Department of Forest Sciences.
The chair also contributes to the ‘Spatial Planning and Natural Resources’ degree offered by the Faculty of Environmental Sciences.
Courses
Courses in the area of forest policy primarily address the issues of national, European and international forest policy. The economics of forest resources discipline focuses on the opportunities and problems of cooperation between people in the area of forestry for the mutual benefit of all involved. The courses offered as part of the ‘Forest Sciences’ bachelor’s degree and the ‘Forest Sciences’ and the ‘Wood Technology and the Timber Industry’ master’s degrees are in German. The courses making up the ‘Tropical Forestry and Management’ master’s degree are in English. We also contribute to courses within the faculty’s ‘Spatial Planning and Natural Resources’ programme. In addition to the modules for which we are directly responsible, we also participate in numerous core and elective modules within these programmes.
