Successful PhD defense of Christiane Helbig

The daily routine of scientific staff at TUD is very versatile. Apart from doing research, there is applying for new projects, coping with administrative tasks and taking care of students - all while not losing track of one's own further qualification. Our colleague Christiane Helbig has met all these challenges and invited to the defense of her PhD thesis on April 4, 2022. With her outstanding work on 'Pest insects in short rotation coppices with poplars, willows and black locust in Saxony and southern Brandenburg' a further milestone of her scientific career is completed. However, we are sure that this will not keep her from entering new and unknown research terrain, because:

"Research is never complete, and the more scientists know, the more they realize they need to know." (J. Carle, 2005)
