Promotionsstelle in DFG-Projekt XyLife
We are excited to offer a three-year PhD position in a new DFG-funded project on modeling individual-tree xylem responses to climate change. This opportunity is perfect for candidates with a deep interest in ecological modeling, wood anatomy, and tree physiology. The successful applicant will develop and refine a simulation model on xylem formation, using wood anatomical data from provenance trials involving Fagus sylvatica and Quercus rubra.
The PhD candidate will work under the supervision of the PI Martin Zwanzig in collaboration with Marieke van der Maaten-Theunissen and Ernst van der Maaten from the Professorship of Forest Growth and Woody Biomass Production.
Application deadline is 14.03.2025. More information can be found in the job advertisement and project description.
