Research activites
Our research addresses an enhanced understanding of nature-oriented as well as economically used ecosystems, and the development of conservation measures and management strategies with the aid of statistical methods and simulation models.
Research Fields
Our approach includes, for example, spatial explicit, individual-based population models, forest simulators, models to assess the risk of pests on plantations, models to analyse and forecast the morphological adaptation of trees to their environmental conditions, eco-ecological models for analysing the adaptation potential of agro-forest systems to climate change, but also simulation models to understand the dynamics of antibiotic resistance in bacteria and to assess the viability of endangered populations. Various methods of both applied and spatial statistics complete our toolbox.
