Marteloscope established in the Tharandt Forest
In the scope of a Master thesis by Isabel Fichtner, we set up a marteloscope in the Tharandt Forest. Marteloscopes are forest stands where all trees are mapped and their economic and ecological values quantified. Complex forest decision-making processes can be practiced and discussed using the innovative I+ App. The marteloscope 'Tharandt Forest' is part of a network of over 100 marteloscopes across Europe, managed by the European Forest Institute. It will be used as a didactic instrument in teaching of the forestry department. The first students and professional colleagues from Sachsenforst already successfully tested our marteloscope.
