Opening conference of the BEECH project held in Litvínov
The opening conference of the Interreg project “Future of Beech Forests in the Ore Mountains in the Age of Climate Change” (BEECH) took place on April 29, 2026, at Schola Humanitas in Litvínov. Participants from research, forest administration, and practice met to discuss strategies for strengthening the resilience and biodiversity of beech forests in the Saxon–Bohemian border region. The program included presentations on LiDAR-based forest structure analysis, close‑to‑nature silviculture, protection of valuable beech stands, and the effects of extreme drought on forest vitality.
