Second general meeting and conference of the COST Action EU-PoTaRCh
The 2nd general meeting of the COST Action EU-PoTaRCh, organized by the Poznań University of Life Sciences (PULS), took place from March 19-21, 2025, at PULS and the Archaeological Museum in Biskupin, Poland. The event gathered 75 members of the Action from 24 European countries, who spent three days discussing cultural heritage, with a particular focus on the production of wood tar, charcoal, resin, and potash.
Grit Neubauer attended the meeting and presented a poster on her PhD research, which explores the historical development of forests in the Erzgebirge through a systematic investigation of historical charcoal kilns, as part of the ArchaeoTin project (Interreg Sachsen-Czech Republic 2021-2027).
The next general meeting of the COST Action EU-PoTaRCh will take place in March 2026 in Brașov, Romania.
