Our Chair: new name, established profile

Our Chair has a new name: the Chair of Forest Growth and Woody Biomass Production has become the Chair of Forest Growth and Dendrosciences. The new name now gives appropriate expression to the scientific profile we have established over many years. Our research and teaching focus on the growth and development of trees and forests, as well as on the information stored in wood, tree rings and charcoal. The term Dendrosciences highlights in particular our work in dendroecology, quantitative wood anatomy and the reconstruction of past forests using historical charcoal.
