Status Conference 2026 for the BMFTR funding initiative “RegiKlim”
Participants of the status conference
On September 28 and 29, 2026, the 2026 status conference for the BMFTR funding initiative “RegiKlim” took place in Berlin. Since our KlimaKonform project will not continue into the third funding phase, this event also marked its conclusion.
The goal of KlimaKonform was to support small and medium-sized municipalities in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia in actively adapting to the consequences of climate change. This brings to a close six exciting years of research, marked by many interesting results and numerous tools developed.
Here are a few examples:
• The Open Data Catalog for KlimaKonform and ReKIS
• A knowledge platform on the impacts of climate change and options for adaptation
- A visualisation service for climate projection data (Simeon Wetzel, Chair of Geoinformatics)
- The soil moisture traffic light system (Bodenfeuchteampel) for Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia (Dr Rico Kronenberg, Dr Thanh Thi Luong, Dr Ivan Vorobevskii, Chair of Meteorology)
- An interactive simulation tool for comparing management scenarios for drinking water reservoirs (Dr Johannes Feldbauer, Chair of Limnology)
- A simulation tool for assessing the impact of heavy rainfall events on the sewerage system (Dr Julian David Reyes-Silva, Chair in Urban Water Management, Reyes-Silva et al. 2022)
- A visualisation tool for urban climate simulations in Naumburg (Niels Wollschläger, UFZ)
We would like to thank all project partners for the time spent together and for their productive collaboration!
