History of the Geodetic Institute

The Geodetic Institute at TU Drseden is one of the oldest of its kind in Germany. On April 1, 1852 Christian August Nagel was appointed professor of Geodesy at "Königlich Sächsischen Polytechnischen Schule", a predessor of TU Dresden.
