Dr. Anthony Halog

Dr. Anthony Halog completed his PhD at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in 2002. Since 2012, he has been a university lecturer and head of the Industrial Ecology and Circular Economy Research Group at the University of Queensland, Australia.
During his fellowship, Dr. Halog will work on a collaborative research project on paradoxes in resource and waste management for green innovation in the transition to a decarbonised circular economy. The long-term goal of this collaboration is to submit a joint funding proposal with Prof. Dornack. In addition, opportunities for further interdisciplinary research collaborations will be explored. Dr. Halog will also be involved in teaching, including offering research seminars and workshops.
Dr. Anthony Halog has more than 20 years of teaching and research experience in Japan, Canada, the USA and Australia. He has also published more than 130 peer-reviewed publications. His current research focus is on the increase of sustainability through understanding the interconnectedness of material and energy systems. Dr. Halog has conducted several LCA projects and co-authored publications on circular economy in the construction industry in Malaysia.
