"Zukunftsfabrik Lausitz": Answers to the global hunger for resources
Press release by the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems (IKTS) from May 10, 2021 (in german)
A strong alliance of Saxon scientific institutions, together with numerous supporters from industry and the region, wants to find pioneering solutions to challenges that are on the global agenda and are also particularly visible in the Saxon coalfield in the new "Lusatia Factory of the Future". The project partners are proposing a large-scale research center to the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in which interdisciplinary teams will combine modern technologies and principles of the circular economy on a real scale in order to drastically reduce the consumption of water, energy and usable land(for the full text, see the IKTS press release).
The Institute of Waste Management and Circular Economy was involved in the development of this project proposal.
