Project description:
The project focuses on the possibility of feeding surplus energy from the power grid into biogas plants. This technology is known in particular under the keyword Power2Gas. As an innovative approach, the TU Dresden is investigating the possibility of directly feeding energy into fermentation processes. The objective is a bioelectrochemical methane fermentation, which can be used for biomass utilization as well as for the utilization of surplus energy from the power grid. The project is being worked on in a research network (partners: see above).
