Research on the pulse of time
The acquisition and processing of research projects has played a central role since the founding of the institute. The thematic spectrum of scientific investigations is wide-ranging. It ranges from biological and thermal processes of waste treatment, recycling, and the use of biogas to the investigation and remediation of contaminants in groundwater and soil, as well as the computer-aided modeling of relevant pollutant transport processes.
Research at the Institute of Waste Management and Circular Economy
The three different subject areas of the now only professorship of the institute are composed of the research fields of all former professorships and teaching areas of the IAK. These are the waste management and circular economy, the groundwater and soil remediation and the watermanagemental system analysis.
These topics are in turn subdivided into individual working groups with different research priorities. Further details can be found under the heading “Research fields” or the profile of the professorship of Waste and Circular Economy.
The following pages list projects that are currently running at the institute as well as these being processed in the past. Each individual project contains detailed descriptions.
