Project description and results:
The objective of the project was to publish a handbook on environmental assessment systems for specific industries as part of a concerted action lasting two years. This was to be the first time that older assessment systems, such as Risk Assessment, were linked with newer ones, such as LIFE CYCLE Assessment. In addition, economic assessment methods were also taken into account. With the developed guidelines, decision makers were given an aid to facilitate the choice of an optimized assessment system for the respective problem.
