Final workshops in Vietnam

After a runtime of almost four years, the international BMBF joint project "AquaViet" will end in December 2022. To mark this occasion, a final colloquium and seminar were held in Hanoi and Quy Nonh (Vietnam), respectively, where the participating project partners presented their results and conclusions and discussed them with the Vietnamese participants of the event, including several water suppliers. In addition to the focus on bank filtration, the technical discussions also focused on various innovative methods of post-treatment of bank filtrate. In particular, the IWC provided the behavior of trace organics in riverbank filtration, as well as new approaches for efficient removal of ammonium, which occurs in high C in groundwater and riverbank filtration in Vietnam. The talks and discussions provided new approaches for more efficient and cost-effective provision of TW in Vietnam and also served to initiate new contacts to continue the good collaborations with Vietnamese research institutions, water utilities and companies.
