Project activities in India
In Goa, wells were built whose pumps are supplied with electricity during the day by photovoltaic modules to provide irrigation water for vegetable cultivation. To avoid contaminants in the vegetables, the water is pumped from bank filtration wells instead of being taken directly from the river, which is contaminated with pathogenic microorganisms and organic trace substances. In Guwahati, the capital of Assam, the inauguration of an onsite electrolysis plant for drinking water disinfection installed by German project partner AUTARCON at a bank filtration well took place on March 2. An information board at the well provides information to the public. Samples were also taken here for trace contaminant testing to identify the bank filtrate content in the produced water. In Kokrajhar / Assam, which is hard to reach, there was also great delight and attention about the visit of the German project partners. At the "Bodoland International Knowledge Festival", more than 300 guests attended a science session of the CCRBF project.
