Studying at the Institute of Water Chemistry
Water chemistry (or hydrochemistry) is the scientific discipline that deals with the natural and anthropogenic water constituents and their reactions. It is a chemical discipline with a special focus on the environmental compartment water. Important subdisciplines are water analytics, chemistry of natural waters, drinking water treatment, and waste water treatment. Water chemistry is strongly connected with other hydro sciences (e.g. hydrobiology, hydrology, water management).

How are the study conditions?
The laboratories of the Institute of Water Chemistry are well equipped with a large number of modern instruments. All important methods of water analytics are available. The moderate number of graduate students that attend the hydrochemical modules allows an intensive and individual supervision. The topics of the master theses are embedded in the current research work. Highly qualified researches of the institute act as supervisors, sometimes together with external project partners. All these conditions offer good prospects for an efficient study and a successful completion of the master theses.
