The Institute of Hydrology and Meteorology combines two fundamental research areas of Hydro and Climate Sciences. The institute develops and deploys measurements and models, and generates interdisciplinary projects for real-world applications.

This is supported by cooperations, e.g. with UFZ in the CAWR or with UNU Flores. This research guides us also in the master courses of Hydrology and Hydro Science and Engineering (in English).
In accordance with the mission of the university, research and teaching are equally important in the understanding of both chairs of the institute.
