BMFTR Network Project with North America
Just in time for the hot season: In early May 2026, the Chair of Meteorology launched the TUHAN (Transatlantic Urban Heat Adaptation Network) networking and research project. Led by Prof. Dr. Matthias Mauder, TUHAN is strengthening collaboration with leading North American researchers on urban heat adaptation. Partners include the Institute for Ecological Spatial Development, Heidelberg University, as well as Princeton University, Boston University, City College of New York, Arizona State University, and the University of Waterloo. Two network meetings are planned in Princeton (October 2026) and Dresden (August 2027). TUHAN is funded by the BMFTR as part of “INITIATES: Research with North America 2025” and complements the KlimaKonform project.
