Save the Date - LWF-BROOK90 Community Workshop 2026
The BROOK90 model family is a central tool for simulating the soil water balance at forest sites and has undergone dynamic further development in recent years. In addition to several parallel implementations (Fortran, R, Julia), numerous new modules and applications for research and forestry practice have been established.
Against this background, we invite you to a two-day LWF-BROOK90 community workshop, which is intended to promote professional exchange, methodological comparability and future cooperation within the BROOK90 community.
📍 Location: TU Dresden / Tharandt
📅 Time: October 01 &02, 2026

Confirmed keynote speakers
- Dr. Rico Kronenberg (TU Dresden)
- Dr. Paul Schmidt-Walter (German Weather Service, DWD)
- Dr. Fabian Bernhard (University of Bern)
Thematic focus
- Current status of the BROOK90 model development
- Sub-daily simulations and extended process representations
- Soil hydraulics, groundwater and runoff coupling
- Isotope transport and innovative model modules
