A technical delegation from Malta visiting the INOWAS research facilities in Dresden
On 20 October 2016 the INOWAS group received the visit of a delegation from Malta. The group included the Executive Director and the Production Manager of Water Services Corporation, the public company responsible for complete drinking and wastewater cycle in the Maltese islands, and the Chief Technical Officer of the Sustainable Energy and Water Conservation Unit of the Maltese Government. The group introduced the Malta South MAR demonstration project, which uses a series of boreholes aligned along the coastal shoreline to inject high quality treated wastewater effluent into the brackish regional aquifer. The second topic of interest during the meeting was focused on EU regulatory framework for assessing the feasibility of MAR schemes. The INOWAS group presented its works on MAR and the delegation visited the lab and field research units, providing valuable feedback both on the general project objectives and their practical implementation.
