INOWAS team met with professors from Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán in Merida, Mexico
A meeting between the INOWAS group and representatives of the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (UADY) was organised in Merida, Yucatan, on 27 June 2016 at the UADY campus of the Engineering Faculty. Here we met Dr. Julia Pacheco, senior researcher and Head of Environmental Engineering research group, and Dr. Carlos Quintal, Head of Unidad de Posgrado e Investigación. UADY expressed interest in student mobility programs. The existent Master’s course will be renewed and new students will be selected in August 2016 while UADY is aiming to introduce new curricula with focus on wastewater and groundwater management / pollution issues. The fields of research are concentrated on wastewater treatment and aquifer protection against pollution. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) shall be drafted before end of July and signed ASAP so that students in next semester can already benefit.
