Policy paper of the German Society for Membrane Technology

The DGMT working group on micropollutants has prepared a policy paper on the topic of membrane technology to prevent antibiotic resistance in water. The policy paper provides information on the problem of resistances in wastewater and shows possible technical solutions. The DGMT working group on micropollutants is convinced that membrane processes have a high potential for eliminating micropollutants in hybrid processes. Furthermore, membranes represent a safe barrier for ultrafine microplastic particles as well as for multi-resistant germs.
