Water reuse in container-based field camps
Funding Period: 01.01.2022 – 30.11.2024
The German Armed Forces have a very high water demand in container-based field camps, as water is to be available for various uses without restriction and over a longer period of time for a large number of people. Due to environmental aspects as well as sustainability, an effective water supply and wastewater disposal system is sought, which includes water reuse. Water reuse becomes particularly necessary when only limited or heavily contaminated raw water sources are available.
The aim of the project is to develop an overall concept for a water supply that is as self-sufficient as possible while reducing the amount of raw water required and limiting the amount of wastewater to a minimum. The aim is to maximise water reuse.
The overall concept to be developed is to be underpinned with practical investigations regarding critical process steps. In particular, the influence of the circulation system is to be worked out and interfering substances and influences are to be identified. The knowledge gained should also be tested on real systems.
