Abstract
Based on in-situ groundwater with increased fluorid and arsenic contents developing different methods for raw water purification and treatment in order to eliminate fluoride and arsenic from groundwater, as well as the corresponding evaluation and measurement of best solutions are carried out within scope of the master thesis. The results of laboratory experiments give evidence, Fluorolith® can effectively remove fluoride from groundwater and granular gerric hydroxide (GFH) is considered as teh most suitable media for arsenic elimination. The reactor container, which consistsof three filters filled with Fluorolith® and two filters filled with GFH, are designed for the water demand magnitudes of Q= 1,3,5,10 and 20 m³/h. The capital investment for a container reactor amounts to approx. 350,000.00 € (without CaF2-pre-precipitation), and the one-time cost for filter material is calculated to about 32,5000.00€. The finished products will be offered to Chinese markets to solve drinking water problems in the rural areas without centralized water supply.
