Forschung

Die Professur forscht zu Spatial Data Science und Geospatial Artificial Intelligence, um räumliche Daten, Modelle und Simulationen für nachhaltige und resiliente Stadt- und Regionalentwicklung nutzbar zu machen. Ein zentrales Anliegen ist dabei, komplexe Erkenntnisse verständlich aufzubereiten und in Entscheidungsprozesse verschiedener Zielgruppen zu integrieren.

The professorship focuses on research and teaching in the fields of spatial data science and geospatial artificial intelligence. The aim is to apply spatial data, indicators, modelling and simulations, and decision support tools in such a way that they support profound transformations and contribute to the sustainable and resilient design of regions, cities and neighbourhoods.

A particular challenge lies in making the findings comprehensible to different target groups and successfully integrating them into decision-making processes. In the context of the digital age, this offers enormous potential for effectively addressing the current global socio-ecological crisis.
