"ARD alpha Uni" accompanied Jessica, a transport manager, on her first job as a trainee at Deutsche Post
At the end of 2022, the editorial and video team of "ARD alpha Uni" became aware of the topic studying transport and traffic at TU Dresden (TUD) and the career prospects afterwards. The result is two informative videos that are well worth watching:
- Studying Transport Engineering with student Victor and his first exercise in the railway operations laboratory at the "Friedrich List" Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences at the TU Dresden.
- With a Master's degree in Transportation eEconomics as a trainee at Deutsche Post and into the Christmas business
For the second video, the team accompanied TUD graduate Jessica with the camera for a day in the run-up to Christmas. She works as a trainee at Deutsche Post in the logistics location Ottendorf-Okrilla near Dresden. Her job: she plans regional truck traffic around Bautzen, Cottbus and in parts of the Ore Mountains around Freiberg. Together with her colleagues, she plans around 1,000 truck tours per week.
In the run-up to Christmas, Jessica was faced with special challenges: Due to the Christmas business, twice as many parcels had to be transported as in the rest of the year. This required a lot of (re)planning.
The result is a ten-minute video that makes you want to #studytransportandtraffic at TU Dresden.
Jessica studied Transport Economics at the TU Dresden, Faculty of Transport Sciences "Friedrich List", from 2014 to 2018 in the Bachelor's programme and from 2018 to 2021 in the Master's programme.
The video has already had more than 43,000 views in the first two weeks after it was published and there is a lively exchange and discussion in the comments section.
