Rajagopalan Kannan has been employed as a research assistant at the Chair of Automotive Engineering at TU Dresden since July 2023. As a master’s student he worked together with BMW for more than a year for his internship and master thesis topic in vehicle safety specific to the analysis of traffic scenarios. For his master thesis, he estimated the risk of the SAE L3 Driving Function due to lane keeping failure, using Monte Carlo Simulation techniques. Before his master study he worked with Daimler in the development of suspension components of commercial vehicles for nearly 3 years. Currently he is working in the field of active vehicle safety of automated driving functions specifically in deriving methods for traffic observation and scenario catalogue creation.
