Working Area

Christoph Ludwig has been employed as a research assistant at the Chair of Automotive Engineering since December 2021 as part of a research project in cooperation with the Audi AG. In his student career at Dresden University of Technology, he has already been working as a student assistant at the chair's suspension motion simulator since January 2019. In addition, he was involved in the student association "Elbflorace e.V." and investigated within the research internship, among other things, the lateral dynamic properties of Formula Student tires on the drum tire test bench of the chair. Subsequently, he was engaged with the subject of subjective-objective correlation studies of lateral dynamic vehicle behavior and analyzed the vehicle response with different rear axle steering software versions. In his diploma thesis the rollover behavior under load influence was investigated in driving tests and simulations. This resulted in a specific loading model for application in the vehicle development process. In his current work at the chair, he is involved in the investigation and objectification of tire behavior during extreme driving maneuvers with a focus on rollover behavior.
