Fields of Work
Kay Büttner was a member of the Department of Automotive Engineering at TU Dresden from 2007 to 2023. He lead the section of Durability and NVH. The main areas of research were:
- analysis and modeling vibration behavior of suspension, powertrain and total vehicle,
- virtual and experimental determination of the transmission behavior from component level to total vehicle level,
- virtual and experimental load data analysis,
- characterisation and functional modeling of elastomeric and hydraulic bearings from component level to subsystem level,
- Computational and experimental durability analysis,
- Development of methods and test systems for characterisation, testing and validation.
In a second main research area, the section was working with development and evaluation methods for the digitized vehicle development process in the area of Systems Engineering. In this context, Dr. Büttner was also responsible for the development and realization of the research infrastructure at the Department of Automotive Engineering. His responsibilities included the development and operation of the test stands as well as the automotive test center.
