Motorcycle Engineering
Motorized two-wheelers are subject to a modified development process compared to the motor vehicle due to the driving physics and the fields of application.
Jürgen Stoffregen (formerly BMW Motorrad) presents the challenges in the development process as well as the technical design.
After an introduction to the motorcycle in general and its development, the development process will be in focus. Based on the overall vehicle, the chassis and the drivetrain as well as the brakes and the control systems are presented in detail to gain a comprehensive insight into the motorcycle technology.
The lecture will be completed with a study trip to the motorcycle factory in Berlin. This is the direct link to the manufacturing and distribution of motorcycles.
The lectures take place in blocks on Fridays from 9:20 - 16:00.
- Winter semester
- Study trip to the BMW Motorradwerk Berlin
- 2 SWS lecture
- Exam 90min
