Chair Participation in the German OR Conference

The Chair of Railway Operations was represented at the German OR in Passau by Dr.-Ing. Henning Preis and Dr.-Ing. Jan Eisold.

Henning Preis presented “A Hub Location Model for Rail Freight Network Design under Modal Share Constraints,” a recent research study on the design of rail freight networks and how modal split requirements can be integrated into network planning.

Jan Eisold presented a research paper titled “Dimensioning and Quality Assessment for Track Groups in Railway Nodes Based on the Optimization of Waiting Times and Waiting Probabilities.” The focus was on the dimensioning and quality assessment of track groups in railway nodes.

In addition to our own presentations, the conference placed particular emphasis on professional exchange: It offered numerous opportunities to discuss current research approaches, learn about new perspectives, and network with colleagues from academia and industry.
