Chairs are advocating for the implementation of the existing Campus line concept

Two recent articles in the Dresdner Neueste Nachrichten ("Verkehrswissenschaftler fordern direkte Campuslinie zum Wasaplatz", June 12, 2026) and the ("Wie die TU Dresden gegen das mögliche Aus der DVB-Campuslinie kämpft", June 13, 2026) discuss TU Dresden’s efforts to preserve the campus line. In the articles, Steffen Dutch, head of the Public Transportation research group at the Chair of Railway Operations, and Professor Regine Gerike from the Chair of Mobility System Planning, emphasize the importance of a direct connection between the campus and Wasaplatz for the mobility of students and staff. Both emphasize the need for a reliable, fast and sustainable public transportation connection.
