Mobility Transformation: Railway and Public Transport Cooperation in Vietnam
Mobility Transformation: Railway and Public Transport Cooperation in Vietnam
From 2–5 September 2026, Dr. Bing Liu from our Chair participated in the “Mobility Transformation” program in Ho Chi Minh City, jointly organized by the Vietnamese-German University (VGU) and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS).
The program brought together experts from Vietnam, Germany and Korea to discuss the role of railways as a strategic backbone for urban mobility transformation, with a particular focus on railway development, operations, multimodal integration and capacity development.
The program also included meetings with HURC1 and the Ho Chi Minh City Management Center of Public Transport, offering valuable insights into the development and operation of Metro Line 1, as well as the integration of different public transport modes in Ho Chi Minh City.
We look forward to building on these valuable exchanges and further developing cooperation between TU Dresden and Vietnamese partners in railway systems, urban mobility and transport research.
