OR Workshop organized by three research groups
OR Workshop organized by three TUD chairs
On 11 March 2026, an OR Workshop brought together researchers from three research groups: the Chair of Industrial Management led by Prof. Udo Buscher, the Chair of Railway Operations led by Prof. Nikola Besinovic, and the Chair of Management Science led by Junior Prof. Tristan Becker. The workshop provided a platform for exchanging recent research on operations research methods applied to railway systems. Presentations were given by Paul Päprer on a semi-integrated approach for combined railway circulation and shift planning, Ashkan Fouladi on integrating deep reinforcement learning and mathematical optimization for real-time train timetable rescheduling, and Martin Scheffler on modeling and classification approaches for rolling stock scheduling. The workshop facilitated discussion among participants and contributed to the dissemination of ongoing research on railway operations and optimization.
