Christmas excursion of the Chair
This year's joint Christmas excursion of the Chair of Railway Signaling and Transport Safety Technology and the CERSS Competence Center Railway Safety Technology led to the Seifhennersdorf Railway Museum. There was an entertaining guided tour by the museum director, who had a lot to tell: about historical model railroads and regional railroad history, accompanied by many exhibits, such as the original Seifhennersdorf (crank) signal box; a design that not everyone had seen before.

We then went to Seifhennersdorf station, where we gained an insight into how the level crossings on the line to Varnsdorf were safed. The tracks were followed across the Czech border to the Kocur brewery, which provided ample refreshments of Czech beer and hearty food.
As an optional extra, some of the group went to the Jedlová separation station, which lies at an altitude of 544 meters. Situated in the middle of the forest, the station is famous for its long-lost culture of station gastronomy, which the participants enjoyed to the full.
