IFL opens project office in Kamenz - Lusatia

IfL's research in the field of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), where the project  AirTakeOff’ is located, is focussing on on-board and on-ground data data link procedures. In particular, these technologies and algorithms are intended to ensure that collisions with manned aircraft and between drones can be avoided despite a high traffic density expected for the future, this especially at smaller aerodromes with limited surveillance technology. The hazards related to a poor detection of UAS and the currently still limited opportunities for coordinated actions of aerial vehicles keep the collision risk elevated.

To push the experimental activities within the project  AirTakeOff’ , IfL is now opening a project office right at the Kamenz airfield, allowing us to best prepare and carry out various planned flight tests. We would like to thank the Kamenz airfield and Aero e.V. for the welcome they have shown us!
