IfL Researcher Hannes Braßel receives SESAR Young Scientist Award 2025 (PhD Category)

Congratulations to Dr. Hannes Braßel for having received this highly competitive price for his PhD Thesis “Enhanced Surveillance and Conflict Prediction for Airport Apron Operation sing LiDAR Sensing”, judged outstanding from the Single European Sky ATM Research Committee. This is a recognition of the extraordinary dedication of our team member Hannes Braßel to his work, delivered in August 2024,  on making apron operations safer by means of Machine Learning techniques applied to LiDAR sensor data. It also highlights the strong research capabilities at IFL to turn innovative ideas into useful solutions to the ATM system, in line with the SESAR Digital European Sky portfolio.
