IFL represented at the 19th Day of German Aerospace Regions
On 4 September 2025, the Chair of Air Transport Technlogy and Logistics presented the Smart Mobilit Lab (SML) project in Lusatia, a test center for networked and automated aviation that is currently being set up at Dresden Airport, the latest findings on the air take-off capability of a drone mounted on a Cessna carrier aircraft and an innovative design optimization concept for a refined approach procedure for Leipzig/Halle Airport based on the EUROCONTROL Point Merge procedure to minimize emissions, noise and costs. In his role as Aerospace Coordinator for the Freestate of Saxony, Prof. Fricke gave a positive assessment of Saxony, which now has three aircraft OEMs in the Free State and excellent aerospace research. More than 360 participants from 216 companies took advantage of this proven platform for intensive exchange and networking.
