Institute students win prize - participation in the InnovAero Competition 2024 by Lufthansa Technik
The DataWings team, consisting of Zohreh Fakhr, Felix Hoch and Jochen Weihe from the Air Transport and Logistics Master's program at TU Dresden, was one of the finalists in the InnovAero Competition 2024 in Hamburg.
The competition, organized by Lufthansa Technik for the first time in 2024, was dedicated to researching the potential of aircraft systems and sensor data to avoid climate-impacting contrails in air traffic. As part of the competition, students worldwide were invited to present their solutions, which was reflected in submissions from five continents.
During the three-day event in December, the participating teams had the opportunity to present the submitted technical report and the developed model for data-based optimization of flight profiles to the other teams and senior management representatives. In addition, the comprehensive supporting program provided deeper insights into the company. The invitation was a recognition of achievement and offered the students the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience and engage in interdisciplinary exchange in a future-oriented environment.
