Content of the Course
This course provides a broad basic knowledge of the subject area of air traffic. In the first part of the course, specific process characteristics of the operation of aircraft from the perspective of air traffic control and the airport operator as well as their restrictions resulting from international and national legislation are discussed. In doing so, you will understand air traffic control and the aerodrome as companies operating under safety-related, economic and ecological constraints. Furthermore, you are familiar with the holistic allocation of the individual system elements and structures.
In the second part, building on the knowledge of the previous part 1, the knowledge in the field of aerodrome design, construction and dimensioning is deepened both on land and airside. The legal and planning aspects of air traffic facility design are examined here in detail for the approach and departure areas, the taxiway and apron, and the terminal. You will also learn more about the special requirements of heliports.
