Cross-city Results available

The results of "Mobility in Cities – SrV 2018" specific to each city were published by the commissioning institutions on their own. City-independent results, such as the comparison of participating cities or city groups, or presentations of higher-level development trends are published by TU Dresden. These are available for download for the 2018 survey.

Canceled: Final SrV 2018 Conference

The final conference on the project "Mobility in Cities - SrV 2018", originally planned for March 12 and 13, 2020, at the TU Dresden, unfortunately had to be canceled due to the current situation and the unpredictable development of the Sars-CoV-2 virus. The cross-city results of SrV 2018, which are the focus of the conference, were made available for download as of March 13, 2020.

Participating Cities and Municipalities

The 2018 SrV survey covered a total of 118 investigation areas, comprising 135 cities, municipalities and administrative communities within the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany. Of the examination rooms, 65 are located in the new federal states (including Berlin), 53 are in the old federal territory. For 27 of the examination areas, this is the first SrV survey.

The SrV Comparison of Cities measured and compared the key baseline parameters of traffic behavior with regard to the residential populations of the participating study areas.

The tabulation of the cross-city results enabled a more differentiated evaluation of attribute combinations than in the standard city-specific tables. This made it possible to make statements that do not usually lead to statistically stable results for an individual city. Thus, even cities that did not participate in the SrV are still able to obtain orientation values for typical characteristics of travel behavior in their own municipality through mobility indices established for city groups.

The first approach focused primarily on the consideration of modelling aspects as a cross-sectional analysis of the current survey. Since the composition of the city groups varied depending on the participating municipalities, they were not suitable for time-series observations. Based on the central features, population size, and topography, seven city groups were formed:
