Luftverschmutzung, Klimawandel, Flächenkonflikte: Der Verkehrssektor steht unter Druck. Die Entwicklungen zeigen, dass kommunale Politik den Problemen eher ratlos gegenübersteht. Zivilgesellschaftliche Akteure und Initiativen, wie der Volksentscheid Fahrrad Berlin, fordern derweil Rechte für Rad- und Fußverkehr ein und beeinflussen öffentliche Debatten. Dabei geht es den Aktiven um mehr als nur das Radfahren. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Forderung nach menschengerechten und lebenswerten Städten. Der Vortrag gibt einen Überblick über die aktuellen Entwicklungen, die Entstehung sogenannter "Radentscheide" in diversen Kommunen und die immer stärkere Rolle der Zivilgesellschaft in der Ausgestaltung urbaner Mobilität.
