Alexandra Velasco (GIZ Ecuador): The Technical Assistance Programme for Sustainable Intermediate Cities in South America: Planning and Engineering for Sustainable Mobility Make Sense if Civil Society is Involved

The GIZ–Ecuador launched the programme „Sustainable Intermediate Cities” 2017 to implement technical assistance for sustainable urban development in medium-sized cities. This talk gives an overview of the whole programme. General aspects and specific criteria for such a programme will be covered, the technical approach for defining the working framework will be presented and finally specific innovations with the involvement of civil society for selected pilot projects in sustainable mobility will be introduced.
