Contribution to the DVR's 27th Series Volume on the topic of bicycle based delivery
We have contributed a chapter to the recently published 27th volume of the DVR series, "Schnelllieferdienste auf zwei Rädern" (Quick Commerce Delivery Services on Two Wheels): "Bicycle-Based Quick Commerce Delivery: Accident Patterns and Recommendations for Action – A Research Project by TU Dresden and the DVR," together with Dr. Coline Kuche and Kay Schulte of the German Road Safety Council (DVR). The chapter condenses the key findings from the project's previously published final report on accident involvement among bicycle food delivery riders, deriving practice-oriented recommendations grounded in a Vision Zero framework – ranging from employer onboarding practices and guidance for adverse weather conditions to regulatory frameworks and cycling infrastructure.
